An Introduction to Samhain

This is the most important festival of the year, it is both the beginning and the end of the year, the beginning of the resting season when the land sleeps through winter and a time of remembrance of those who have gone before. The feast of the Goddess as the Crone and the Wise One. At this time of year the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead are thinnest. This is the time to invite the spirits of loved ones past into the home. The God commences the “Wild Hunt” and with his riders and hounds collects up the souls of those who linger or are unwary. The hunt continues throughout the winter months.
